Battersea Food Market

Today along a quaint but idyllic cobbled south London street saw the advent of a new era for Battersea High Street. In an effort to reignite the soul, community spirit and character of “The High Street” following the previous events hosted by the high street, notably the Royal Wedding Celebration which turned out to be a roaring success. This initiative provides a fabulous opportunity for the street to continue to turn around the perception it has among the general public and local resident’s. From now on every Saturday Battersea High Street will play host to plethora of food sellers from varying cuisine’s from different continents and discipline‘s, making their delightful treats and bringing them within easy reach of residents from this lovely corner of South West London and the rest of London alike.

the food businesses present I must recount on some of those which had really left a lasting impression, as a person whom appreciates the satisfaction confectionary may bring to some I do not have a sweet tooth, contrary to this fact I had been granted the pleasure of sampling treats from The Dessert Deli supplier to Fortnum and Mason to say the least, their Millionaires Caramel Shortbread is a truly divine indulgence along with flapjack and a caramelised lemon cream ensemble which was  totally delectable, dessert deli displays the embodiment of palatable passion and for that I would definitely return the second on the list is the Sweet Tooth Factory is a fabulous cheesecake business producing cheesecake by the like of pistachio, Lemon, Strawberry, Kinder Bueno and last but not least the Oreo cheesecake which I had to sample out of sheer curiosity and a liking of Oreo‘s. I must add at a very healthy portion size this is another of those guilty treats which justify themselves as it isn’t an indulgence that I would recommend for those figure watchers among us, if that is no concern to you these cheesecakes are a fabulous addition to any good evening. To move on from all that sweet talk also available on sale is a variety of breads, antipasti, cured meats, eastern delights savoury and sweet, a wide range of cheeses, marmalade and the list could go on, this new food market has all of the right ingredients to mature in to a fine place to eat and or acquire on a Saturday morning.
